In the Travelers' Stories gallery, meant for the museum's older children, visitors join a
campsite setting with representations of children from around the world. Each child tells
his or story through a personal journal. Visitors can try to match the exhibit children
to the backpacks on the wall, using the backpack contents as clues to the owners' identities.
One of the campsite children, Byron, is a real child from Wilmington, chosen through a
museum-sponsored essay context. Elsewhere in the gallery, visitors can choose books and
games from other countries and cultures to learn more about children from other parts of
the world The murals in this gallery were painted by one of the local artists commissioned
for the exhibits.
