As part of a collaborative design team of two architectural and two design firms, Wondercabinet
worked with this new children's museum on a Master Plan for the exhibit program and on
coordination of the architectural and exhibit integration. We then completed conceptual
design of three exhibit galleries.
At the Construction Zone, visitors will build structures using simple, real materials including
wood plates and beams, corrugated plastic panels, and real nuts and bolts. Working
mechanisms may be assembled from cams, gears and electrical components and installed
on the building structures.
Going Places brings visitors into a world of new discoveries: of new people and places,
undertaken from the Earthship, a unique vehicle incorporating modes of travel on land,
sea and air.
The outdoor Sports Follies provides environments and equipment associated with traditional
outdoor games and sports, but in this exhibit visitors are encouraged to create their own
games, with their own rules.
